In the women’s competition, four-time Olympic champions America will always be among the favorites to win. Megan Rapinoe, one of the biggest names in world football, will be 39 years old by Paris 2024 when she will be on a mission to hunt for a second gold medal at the Olympic Games.

The current Olympic champions, Canada, will seek to defend their title in the next Olympic Games, while Brazil will be without legends of the past like Formiga, who has participated in all editions of the Olympic Games since the 1996 Atlanta Games, but the team still includes strong female players in its ranks, including Forward players Pia Zanerato and Debinha.

In Europe, the Tokyo 2020 silver medalists, Sweden, are ranked second in the FIFA rankings and will rely on Emma Blackstenius’ leadership skills as they seek to qualify for another edition of the Olympic Games. Spain’s squad includes Alexia Botías, winner of the 2021 UEFA European Footballer of the Year award, while third-ranked France will have the support of an entire nation when they compete at their home Olympics.

In the men’s competition, Brazil, the reigning U-17 world champions, will be aiming for a third consecutive Olympic victory. Also in the U-17 tournament, the host country’s French player, Arnaud Kalimuiendo, excelled, scoring five goals, followed by another 12 goals with his club Lens last season. Who could forget Kylian Mbappé, the international star who wished to participate in the Paris Games.

As for Italy, look for the appearance of Wilfried Gnonto, who scored three times in the U-17 World Cup. He also scored five goals in 10 matches he played in a tournament with his club Zurich, and was part of his country’s squad in the European Nations League, where he provided an assist for a goal against Germany.
